Denise Brooks, Administrator of Resident Services for the Detroit Housing Commission (DHC), and a 3rd year PhD student of Public Policy at Wayne State University. Ms. Brooks is the Executive Director for New Life City Community Development, a nonprofit community organization to revitalize blighted neighborhoods and engage neighbor residents in the process. Additionally, she has served as an adjunct faculty at Wayne County Community College lecturing in the areas of American Government and Political Science.
Ms. Brooks is a board member for the Michigan Coalition against Homelessness where she works to help provide resources for the homeless and under-privileged individuals. She has written numerous grants for supportive services projects resulting in $3.68 million dollars in funding to ensure the availability of program resources and services.
